Ballet Barre is a series of movements that strengthen the entire body. It combines the core conditioning of Pilates, flexibility enhancement of yoga and lengthening exercises of ballet. This fitness workout for non-dancers incorporates floor barre, barre work using a chair, strength work using one's own body weight, resistance bands, weighted balls, body bars and hand-weights. Bring a towel, water, a yoga mat and wear comfortable fitness clothing. The class can be done barefooted or in ballet slippers or split-sole sneakers. Improves muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, posture, coordination, balance and fluidity of movement. Tuesdays 5:15pm with Ballet Barre certified instructor Mary Anne Fantauzzi.
